What is the Ultimate VO Survivor – Weekend Retreat?

It’s an intimate, fun-filled, in-person TRAINING INTENSIVE, TEAM-BUILDING EXERCISE and VOICE ACTING AUDITION COMPETITION all rolled into one, with a focus on AUDITION SKILLS.

I am so thankful to have been a part of this past retreat and I can’t thank you ALL enough for all of the love, encouragement and beautiful energies you gave every one of us. Wow! I don’t know what to say… I’m honestly speechless. I am so very grateful to you, Deb and Elley!  What a decision to go out on a limb, back then, and take part in UVOS Take 3. From that experience, I just had to attend the retreat and meet you both. GetMic’d has been a gift itself and you two amazing ladies just keep on giving so much of yourselves.  Thank you very much for the appreciation, all the warmth, coaching, and the goodies! Who Can Attend

It’s open to everyone, from everywhere!  Voice actors of all ages and levels… our participants have come from around the globe, and ranged in age from 22 to 70!  An experience you’ll never forget!

Where is it?

Get Mic'd HQ is located approximately one hour north of Toronto, Ontario, easily accesible by GoTrain fromt the airport.

Where do we stay?

Stay on site (in shared accommodations, summer camp style), camp in a tent on the grounds, or stay at a local hotel or AirBnb.

Day 1 – Friday, June 21st

  • Talent arrives at various times. Meet and greet, sign in and settle in!
  • 6 PM: Chili, garlic cheese buns & appetizers served (vegi option available)
  • 7 PM: Opening panel with Deb Munro and Elley Ray
  • 8 PM: Meet & Greet
  • 9 PM: Fire Burning Voice Ritual, Sacred Contract, Late Night Swim, CharacterOke

Day 2 – Saturday, June 22nd

  • 7 – 9 AM: Breakfast (Deb’s famous egg bites, bagels, yogurts & fruits)
  • 8 – 9 AM: Yoga Morning Stretch with Donna
  • 9 – 11 AM: Morning Awakening Team Building with Elley & Deb
  • 11 AM – 1 PM: Character Building Workshop with Deb & Elley
  • 1 – 2 PM: LUNCH (Build your own sandwiches – V/GF options available)
  • 2 – 4 PM: Audition for Panel & Feedback
  • 4 – 6 PM: Group 1 Auditions in studio (scheduled times)
  • 4 – 6 PM: Create Group Get Mic’d Commercial (performed on Sunday)

Day 3 – Sunday, June 23rd

  • 9 – 11 AM: Vocalizing intentions & outdoor games with Elley & Deb
  • 11 AM – 1 PM: In-Person Workshop (with special guest TBA shortly)
  • 1 – 2 PM: LUNCH (Build your own sandwiches – V/GF options available)
  • 2 – 4 PM: Character Auditions Online Panel & Q&A (Special Guests)
  • 4 – 6 PM: Group 2 Auditions in studio (scheduled times)
  • 4 – 6 PM: Rehearse Group Commercials
  • 6 – 7 PM: SUPPER – Roast beef, potatoes & gravy (V/GF options on request)
  • 7 – 8:30 PM: Perform Group Commercials for Panel
  • 9 PM: Campfire Voice Stories Workout and free time

Day 4 – Monday, June 24th (fun day field trip optional)

  • 7 – 9 AM: Breakfast (bagels, fruits, yogurt, toast)
  • 9 – 10 AM: Pack up for a field trip to Wasaga Beach (depending on weather and demand)
  • 10 AM – 5 PM: Various, optional activities (weather dependent – $$ activities optional, picnic lunch supplied) or relax at the Retreat pool instead
  • 5 – 6 PM: Gather at drop off location and head back to GM Retreat
  • 6 – 8 PM: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers on the BBQ, and all the fixings plus V/GF options
  • 8 – 10 PM: AUDITION and GROUP WINNERS ANNOUNCED
  • 10 PM: Free time

Day 5 – Tuesday, June 25th

  • 7 AM – 12 PM: Shuttles to airport and our event ends
